Business Resilience: Building Organizational Immunity to Disruptions and Ensuring Continuity

day 1
From Continuity to Resilience: The Philosophy of Facing 21st-Century Disruption
    • Content: Why do traditional plans fail? The difference between Business Continuity (BC) and Business Resilience (BR). Introduction to the “Business Resilience Chain” identifying critical vulnerabilities in: People, Processes, Technology, Supply Chain.
    • Activity: Quick self-assessment of vulnerabilities in the participants’ organizations’ resilience chains.
day 2
Diagnosing Breakpoints: Advanced Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
    • Content: Evolving the BIA beyond identifying critical processes to measuring the “Maximum Allowable Outage (MAO)” and “Recovery Time Objective (RTO)” for each process. Identifying internal and external dependencies.
    • Activity: Workshop to apply an advanced BIA to a hypothetical critical process and identify its dependencies.
day 3
Response Strategies: From Planning to Building Dynamic Capabilities
    • Content: Developing resilient strategies for each link in the “Resilience Chain”: HR strategies (remote work, multi-skilling), Operations strategies (decentralization, alternatives), Supply Chain strategies (diversification, strategic inventory).
    • Activity: A simulation game for a sudden crisis, where teams must make quick decisions based on their strategies.
day 4
Crisis Leadership and Communication Under Pressure
    • Content: The psychology of decision-making under pressure. Developing a virtual and physical “Emergency Operations Center model.” Principles of effective communication during crises (honesty, speed, repetition) with various stakeholders.
    • Activity: Role-playing exercises simulating virtual press conferences during a crisis, focusing on communication tone and message.
day 5
Testing Immunity and Recovery: From Testing to Continuous Improvement
    • Content: Designing and conducting realistic simulation exercises (Table-top exercises, Simulations) to test plans and capabilities. How to manage the recovery phase and conduct post-event analyses to continuously improve organizational immunity.
    • Activity: Designing and conducting a table-top simulation for a specific disruption scenario, then analyzing performance and extracting lessons.

Overall Objective: To enable participants to move from the concept of a static “Business Continuity Plan” document to building dynamic organizational capabilities for resilience and rapid adaptation, ensuring the continuity of critical operations in the face of any expected or unexpected disruption.
